LaRC (Langley Research Center)


Langley Research Center (LaRC) is a NASA research facility located in Hampton, Virginia. Established in 1917, it is the oldest of NASA's field centers. LaRC focuses on aeronautical research, though it has also made significant contributions to the fields of atmospheric science, space exploration, and technology development. LaRC has been involved in the development of many important technologies and vehicles, including the Apollo Lunar Lander, the Space Shuttle, and the Hubble Space Telescope. Today, LaRC continues to conduct research in areas such as unmanned aerial vehicles, supersonic flight, and advanced materials.
