Formation Of Stars
Formation of Stars is the process by which dense regions within molecular clouds in interstellar space, sometimes referred to as stellar nurseries or star-forming regions, collapse and form stars. This process is regulated by gravity and often triggered by events such as the collision of two galaxies, the shock wave from a supernova explosion, or the compression of gas by spiral density waves in the galaxy's arms. As the cloud collapses, it fragments into smaller pieces, each of which can form a star. The collapsing cloud heats up as it becomes denser, eventually reaching a temperature and density at which nuclear fusion can occur in its core, initiating the main sequence phase of the star's life.
