Fluid Transfer

Fluid transfer is the process of moving liquids or gases from one location to another in space. This is a critical function for spacecraft, as it is necessary to transfer propellants, coolants, and other fluids between different systems and components. Fluid transfer can be accomplished through a variety of methods, including pumps, valves, and pressure differentials. In microgravity environments, fluid transfer can be more challenging due to the lack of gravity, which can cause fluids to behave differently than they do on Earth. Additionally, fluid transfer systems must be designed to be reliable and leak-free, as any leaks or spills could be dangerous to the crew and equipment.
