Feng Yun
Feng Yun is a series of Chinese meteorological satellites designed to provide weather data and forecasts for China and surrounding regions. The first Feng Yun satellite was launched in 1988 and the series has since been upgraded with newer models. The satellites carry a variety of instruments including imagers, sounders, and microwave radiometers to collect data on temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and wind speed. The data collected by Feng Yun satellites is used for weather forecasting, disaster prevention and relief, and agricultural planning. The satellites are operated by the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and are part of China's broader efforts to develop its space capabilities.
