Ephemeris


In space and astronautical engineering, ephemeris refers to a table or data file that contains the calculated positions of celestial objects at specific times or intervals. These objects can include planets, moons, asteroids, and comets. Ephemerides are used for a variety of purposes, including spacecraft navigation, astronomical observations, and predicting celestial events. They are typically generated using complex mathematical models that take into account the gravitational forces of multiple celestial bodies, as well as other factors such as atmospheric drag and solar radiation pressure. Ephemerides can be generated for specific time periods or for an entire year, and are constantly updated as new data becomes available. In addition to position information, ephemerides may also include other data such as velocity, distance, and brightness.
