Environmental Impact

Environmental Impact refers to the effects that space and astronautical engineering activities have on the natural environment. These activities include rocket launches, satellite deployments, and space exploration missions. The environmental impact can be both direct and indirect. Direct impacts include noise pollution, air pollution, and the release of hazardous materials into the environment. Indirect impacts include changes in the climate, destruction of habitats, and the disruption of ecosystems. Environmental Impact assessments are conducted to identify potential impacts and to develop strategies to mitigate them. These assessments are required by international treaties and national laws to ensure that space activities are conducted in a sustainable manner that minimizes harm to the environment.
