Electron Temperature

Electron temperature is a measure of the kinetic energy of electrons in a plasma. It is an important parameter in space and astronautical engineering as it affects the behavior of plasmas in various space environments, such as the Earth's ionosphere and the solar wind. Electron temperature is typically measured using Langmuir probes, which are instruments that can measure the current-voltage characteristics of a plasma. The electron temperature can be used to determine other plasma parameters, such as the plasma density and the plasma potential. In addition, electron temperature is important for understanding the behavior of spacecraft in plasma environments, as it affects the charging and discharging of spacecraft surfaces.
