Electron Multiplier

Electron Multiplier is a device used for detecting and amplifying low-intensity signals in space and astronautical engineering. It consists of a series of electrodes that are arranged in a way to create a cascade of secondary electrons. When a primary electron strikes the first electrode, it produces a number of secondary electrons, which are then accelerated towards the next electrode. This process is repeated several times, resulting in a significant amplification of the signal. Electron Multipliers are commonly used in mass spectrometers, particle detectors, and other instruments that require high sensitivity and low noise.
