Docking Mechanism

A docking mechanism is a device used to connect two spacecraft together while in space. It allows for the transfer of crew, supplies, and fuel between the two spacecraft. Docking mechanisms can be either active or passive. Active docking mechanisms use motors and sensors to guide the two spacecraft together, while passive docking mechanisms rely on a more simple mechanical connection. Docking mechanisms are critical for space exploration missions, as they allow for the assembly of larger structures in space and the resupply of crew and resources to spacecraft in orbit.
