Data Collection

Data collection is the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest, in an established systematic fashion that enables one to answer stated research questions, test hypotheses, and evaluate outcomes. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, data collection involves the acquisition of information related to various aspects of space exploration, such as the physical properties of celestial bodies, the behavior of spacecraft and their components, and the effects of space travel on human physiology. This information is collected through a variety of methods, including remote sensing, in-situ measurements, and experiments conducted on spacecraft and in space stations.
