Cost Analysis

Cost Analysis is the process of estimating the expenses and resources required to design, develop, manufacture, test, launch, operate, and maintain a space system or mission. It involves identifying and quantifying the various cost elements such as labor, materials, equipment, facilities, software, testing, transportation, insurance, and contingency. Cost Analysis also includes evaluating the trade-offs between cost, performance, and schedule objectives, and identifying the risks and uncertainties that may affect the cost estimates. Cost Analysis is an essential part of the space and astronautical engineering process, as it helps to ensure that the space system or mission is affordable, feasible, and sustainable.
