Cartesian Coordinate System


The Cartesian Coordinate System is a mathematical system used to describe the position of a point in space. It is based on a three-dimensional coordinate system, where each point is defined by its distance from three perpendicular axes, labeled x, y, and z. The x-axis is horizontal, the y-axis is vertical, and the z-axis is perpendicular to the other two. The point where the three axes intersect is called the origin. The position of a point is given by its coordinates, which are the distances from the origin along each axis. This system is widely used in space and astronautical engineering to describe the position and trajectory of spacecraft and other objects in space.
