Carbon Fiber Composites

Carbon fiber composites are materials made from carbon fibers and a matrix material, such as epoxy resin, that are combined to create a strong and lightweight material. The carbon fibers provide high strength and stiffness, while the matrix material holds the fibers together and transfers loads between them. Carbon fiber composites are commonly used in the aerospace industry for applications such as aircraft structures, rocket components, and satellite parts. They are also used in high-performance sports equipment, automotive parts, and wind turbine blades. The manufacturing process for carbon fiber composites involves laying up layers of carbon fiber fabric or tow in a mold, impregnating the fibers with the matrix material, and curing the material in an oven or autoclave. The resulting material has excellent strength-to-weight ratio, fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance.
