Barometer

In space and astronautical engineering, a barometer is an instrument used to measure atmospheric pressure. It is particularly important in spacecraft and space stations, where changes in pressure can have significant effects on the health and safety of crew members. Barometers can be mechanical or electronic, and are often integrated into the life support systems of spacecraft to ensure that pressure levels remain within safe limits. In addition to their use in spacecraft, barometers are also used in ground-based facilities that simulate space environments, such as vacuum chambers and hypobaric chambers.
