Argon

Argon is a chemical element with the symbol Ar and atomic number 18. It is in group 18 of the periodic table and is a noble gas. Argon is the third-most abundant gas in the Earth's atmosphere, making up about 0.934% of the atmosphere. It is used in various applications in space and astronautical engineering, including as a shielding gas in welding and other high-temperature industrial processes, as a propellant in ion thrusters, and as a gas for filling radiation detectors. Argon is also used in the production of semiconductors and as a coolant in cryogenic applications.
