Active Heat Exchangers


Active heat exchangers are devices that transfer heat between two fluids by actively controlling the flow rate and direction of the fluids. In space and astronautical engineering, active heat exchangers are used to regulate the temperature of spacecraft and their components, as well as to manage the thermal environment of scientific instruments and experiments. Active heat exchangers can be designed to operate in a variety of conditions, including microgravity and extreme temperatures, and can use a range of techniques to transfer heat, such as conduction, convection, and radiation.
