
Solid-state Lighting
Solid-state lighting (SSL) is a type of lighting that uses semiconductor light-emitting diodes (LEDs), organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), or polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) as sources of illumination instead of traditional incandescent bulbs or fluorescent tubes. In space and astronautical engineering, SSL is used for various applications, such as spacecraft lighting, plant growth experiments, and astronaut health and well-being.
