Rankine Cycle
Rankine cycle is a thermodynamic cycle used in power generation that converts heat into work. It is a closed-loop cycle that uses water or steam as the working fluid. The cycle consists of four processes: heating the working fluid, expanding the fluid through a turbine to produce work, cooling the fluid, and compressing the fluid back to its initial state. In power generation, the Rankine cycle is used in steam power plants to generate electricity. The cycle is also used in spacecraft propulsion systems, where a nuclear reactor heats the working fluid to produce thrust.
