Flexible Printed Circuits


Flexible Printed Circuits (FPC) are electronic circuits that are printed on flexible plastic substrates. FPCs are commonly used in satellites, spacecraft, and other space applications where weight and space are critical factors. They are also used in space suits and other wearable technology for astronauts. FPCs are manufactured using a combination of printing, etching, and laminating processes. The conductive traces and components are printed onto the flexible substrate using conductive inks or pastes. The substrate is then etched to remove unwanted material and create the desired circuit pattern. Finally, the layers are laminated together to create a flexible and durable circuit board.
