Clean Air Delivery Rate
Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is a metric used to measure the effectiveness of air purifiers in removing pollutants from the air. It is calculated by measuring the volume of clean air that an air purifier produces per unit of time, and comparing it to the volume of polluted air that it can clean in the same amount of time. CADR ratings are determined by independent testing organizations, and are based on the removal of three common indoor air pollutants: tobacco smoke, pollen, and dust. The higher the CADR rating, the more effective the air purifier is at removing these pollutants from the air.
