Circuit Boards
Circuit boards, also known as printed circuit boards (PCBs), are essential components in spacecraft and other astronautical systems. They are used to mechanically support and electrically connect electronic components using conductive pathways, tracks, and signal traces etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate. Circuit boards are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of space, including extreme temperatures, radiation, and vacuum. They are also used to reduce the size and weight of electronic systems, increase their reliability, and simplify their assembly and maintenance. Circuit boards can be single-sided, double-sided, or multi-layered, depending on the complexity and performance requirements of the system. They can also be flexible or rigid, and can incorporate various types of components, such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, and integrated circuits.
