CCD
CCD stands for Charge-Coupled Device. It is a type of image sensor used in space and astronautical engineering to capture images of celestial objects. CCDs are made up of an array of tiny pixels that convert light into electrical charge. The charge is then transferred from pixel to pixel until it reaches the edge of the array, where it is read out and converted into a digital signal. CCDs are used in a variety of space applications, including telescopes, planetary probes, and Earth observation satellites. They are preferred over other types of image sensors because they are highly sensitive, have low noise, and can capture images with high resolution and dynamic range.
