Black Holes
Black holes are regions in space where the gravitational force is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape. They are formed when massive stars collapse in on themselves, creating a singularity, a point of infinite density and zero volume. The boundary around a black hole from which nothing can escape is called the event horizon. Black holes can be detected by observing their effects on nearby matter, such as stars orbiting around an invisible point. They play a crucial role in the evolution of galaxies, as they can merge and grow in size, affecting the distribution of matter in their surroundings.
